Cutworm: Agrotis spp
Symptoms of damage

• Larva cut younger plant at the base above the ground level.
• Larva remains concealed in cracks in the ground and active at night.

• Larva is dark brown with red coloured head.
• Adult – brown in colour and dark colour spots on the wings

Management

• Hand pick the caterpillars and destroy
• Spray NSKE 5%
• Poison bait with rice bran, jiggery and carbaryl can be used
